Education Nights @ the Rep

Engage your student’s imagination by bringing them to a live performance at the Rep. Education Nights offers substantially discounted tickets for a Thursday evening performances to all public and private school teachers and their classes.

Rep on Tour

The Rep has developed a unique touring program that brings stage adaptations of classic literature into educational environments around the county. Recent touring shows have included small cast adaptations of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and A Christmas Carol.

This Spring, Rep on Tour will present Shakespeare's The Tempest to schools in West County.

Sonoma County Repertory Theater's production is part of Shakespeare for a New Generation, a national initiative sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts in Cooperation with Arts Midwest.

Sonoma County Repertory Theater is one of 37 professional companies selected to participate in Shakespeare for  New Generation, bringing productions of Shakespeare to thousands of middle-and-high-school students in communities across the United States. This is the seventh year of Shakespeare in American Communities, the largest tour of Shakespeare in American history.

The National Endowment for the Arts believes a great nation deserves great art. Shakespeare for a New Generation exemplifies the Arts Endowment's commitment to artistic excellence, arts education, and public outreach to all Americans.

Artist Residencies

The Rep offers 4-8 week classroom Artist Residencies designed to integrate arts into a teacher's current curriculum in order to reinforce and improve student academic performance. Prior to the residency, Teaching Artists work hands on with the classroom teacher to tailor-make the residency to suit the age and interests of the particular class and to reinforce state education standards.
