working with the playwright

Sonoma County Reperatory Theater is committed to fostering the voices of new playwrights on a local and national level. We hold collaboration integral to our relationship with the playwright and our audiences. The Rep believes in giving playwrights a home to hone their scripts, by offering the playwright a place to continue (and experiment) with changes they feel necessary in a creative environment.

Application Process

The Rep is looking for playwrights with scripts that are beyond the first draft and have the time and energy to take advantage of a workshop process at our downtown Sebastopol theater.

Guidelines

• We are an intimate theatre, so keep that in mind for cast limitations (double cast actors are acceptable but must be noted in the script as such)
• The Rep does not accept emailed scripts or queries
• Submitted scripts will not be returned
Submissions
• Send a bound copy of the script (double-sided copies are okay)
• Send a one-page synopsis
• Send a character list (including any double cast roles)
• Include your contact information
• Send a SASE if you don’t include an email for our answer
