Larry Carlin fell in love with the theater when he saw his first play at 16. After 35 years as a professional marketing executive, Larry left Los Angeles for Sonoma County. He hooked up with Sonoma County Repertory Theater as a volunteer Marketing Director in 2000, and joined the Board of Directors a year later. He has served two terms as Board Chair.

In 2002, Larry and John Moran (actor-playwright) co-founded the North Bay Theatre Group, an alliance of six companies in Sonoma County which has evolved into more than 40 companies in five counties. He was the first President of NBTG and currently serves on the group’s Executive Committee.

Larry's volunteer work also includes the area of human rights. He is a former Commissioner on the Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights. Currently, he is on the Board of Directors of Sonoma State University Alliance for the Holocaust, and is chair of Congregation Shomrei Torah's Yom Hashoah (Holocaust) Committee. He is also a member of Shomrei Torah's Social Action Committee.

In the field of marketing, Larry was Senior V.P. and Marketing Director for L.A.-based R&B Realty Group, whose Oakwood chain of apartment communities is the largest provider of corporate apartments in the U.S. From eight apartment communities in California, Larry helped the organization grow to more than 50,000 apartments throughout the U.S., Europe & Asia.

Larry has also done extensive work in customer service, including advanced studies at The Disney Institute, UC Berkeley, Arizona State University and the U. of Colorado. A graduate of Cal State University at Los Angeles with a BA in Communications, Larry began his professional career as a reporter with United Press International.

Larry and his wife, Judy, live in Santa Rosa, with three cats! They have two grown daughters: Suzanne, a substance abuse counselor working with teens, in Santa Monica, and Jennafer, a Clinical Research Manager for cancer and other trials at California Pacific Medical Center (a Sutter Hospital) in San Francisco.
