Joe Emanuele’s show business career began in 1981 as an extra stage carpenter for the San Francisco Opera. After earning his degree in business analysis at San Francisco State University he returned to the stage in 1987. From 1987 to 1994 he served on the carpenter crew of the San Francisco Opera and the San Francisco Ballet as well as many of the touring companies that visited the War Memorial Opera House or other theaters in San Francisco.
Later, Joe took his stage experience to film and television production. While at George Lucas’s Industrial Light and Magic in San Rafael, he worked on the crews filming the special effects for The Hunt for Red October, Die Hard 2, and other films and commercials. He also served as a set lighting technician on major motion pictures such as Mrs. Doubtfire, Mars Attacks!, Phenomenon, True Lies, and Village of Damned to name just a few.
In 1999 Joe made a career change to finance and accounting. He became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and later earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is currently a valuation analyst with Andersen and Company LLP, a Santa Rosa CPA firm.
Joe, who lives in Santa Rosa with his family, is excited to be The Rep’s Treasurer where he can contribute the knowledge developed in his new career while staying in touch with his theatrical roots.
